Everything you need to know about working with WebCraft Atelier.

About the Studio

We are a full-service digital studio based in Cape Town, South Africa. We design and develop custom websites, manage the entire project from discovery to launch, and provide ongoing support after your site goes live. Think of us as your dedicated digital partner — not just a vendor you hire once.
Three things set us apart. First, every website we build is designed from scratch around your brand — we don't use templates. Second, we integrate project management into every engagement, which means you always know what's happening, what's next, and when to expect it. Third, we focus on quality over volume — we take on a limited number of projects at a time so each one gets our full attention.

Process & Timeline

Most projects are completed within 4 to 8 weeks from the date your deposit is confirmed and your content is submitted. Timelines vary depending on the size and complexity of the project. A 5-page brochure site typically takes 4 weeks; a larger e-commerce or multi-functional site may take 6 to 10 weeks. We provide a detailed timeline at the start of every project and keep you updated throughout.
We follow a structured six-stage process: Discovery — we learn about your business, goals, audience, and brand. Strategy & Planning — we define the sitemap, content structure, and project timeline. Design — we create wireframes and high-fidelity mockups for your approval. Development — we build the approved designs into a fully functional website. Review & Revisions — you review the site and request any final changes. Launch & Handover — we go live and hand over everything you need to manage your site.
After your deposit is confirmed, we'll send you a Project Brief and Content Submission Checklist. This covers everything we need from you — your logo files, brand colours, copy, images, and any reference websites you like. The faster content is submitted, the faster your project moves. Delays in content submission are the most common reason projects run over schedule.

Design & Build

Every project includes custom design tailored to your brand, full responsiveness across mobile, tablet, and desktop, UI animations and micro-interactions, a contact form with email integration, on-page SEO setup, and 30 days of post-launch support. Specific deliverables are outlined in your proposal and Statement of Work before any work begins.
Everything is built from scratch. We do not use WordPress themes, Squarespace, or pre-made templates. Your website is a custom design created specifically for your brand, your audience, and your goals. This is one of our core commitments and a non-negotiable part of how we work.
Yes, without exception. Every website we build is fully responsive and tested across a range of devices and screen sizes before launch. Mobile performance is treated as a priority, not an afterthought.
Every website we build includes foundational on-page SEO: proper heading structure, meta titles and descriptions, image optimisation, fast load times, and clean code. This gives your site a strong technical base. We do not offer ongoing SEO campaigns as a core service, but we can recommend trusted SEO partners if that's something you need.

Revisions & Scope

Your proposal will specify the number of included revision rounds — typically two to three rounds across the design and development phases. We find that our structured process and clear design approvals at each stage mean most clients rarely need to use all of them. Any changes requested outside the agreed scope are handled via a Change Order, which we document and price transparently before proceeding.
That's completely fine — we just handle it properly. Any additions or changes outside the original scope are documented in a Change Order Form, which outlines the additional cost and time required. You approve it before we proceed. This keeps the project on budget and on schedule for both sides.

After Launch

Yes. Where applicable, we build sites with a user-friendly content management system (CMS) so you can update text, images, and basic content without needing a developer. We provide a handover session and documentation to walk you through it. For more complex updates or ongoing changes, we offer monthly maintenance retainers.
Yes. We offer a 30-day complimentary support period after every launch. Beyond that, we have monthly maintenance retainer packages that cover software updates, security monitoring, content changes, performance checks, and priority support. Ask us about retainer options in your proposal discussion.
Yes. We can guide you through domain registration and recommend reliable hosting solutions suited to your site's size and traffic needs. We can manage the setup on your behalf or work with your existing hosting provider — whichever you prefer.

Pricing & Payment

Every project is scoped and priced individually based on your specific requirements. As a guide, most of our projects fall between R8,000 and R35,000 depending on size, complexity, and functionality. We provide a detailed proposal with a fixed price before any work begins — no hidden costs, no surprise invoices.
We invoice via EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer). Our standard payment structure is 50% deposit to begin and 50% on project completion. For larger projects, we may offer a three-stage milestone payment plan. All payment terms are confirmed in writing before the project starts.
